Dr. Morbia

As the newest member of Rosenblum Plastic Surgery serving the Hampton Roads community, Roshan P. Morbia, M.D., has treatment expertise in the full range of reconstructive plastic surgery.

Though born in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Morbia was primarily raised on the U.S. Gulf Coast in Texas. He attended The University of Chicago, where he earned a B.S. with Honors in Mathematics and a B.A. in Biological Sciences, and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. After completing a surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, he was accepted into the combined residency in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he ultimately served as Chief Resident in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Morbia then pursued additional concentrated subspecialty experience under the tutelage of international leaders in his field, completing a fellowship in Craniomaxillofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California, where he also served as Clinical Instructor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Conditions treated and procedures performed include: acute and chronic ailments of the hand (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger and hand/finger fractures), breast cancer reconstruction, skin cancer/Mohs surgery reconstruction & facial reconstruction (e.g., cleft lip and palate, rhinoplasty, traumatic facial injuries and facial fractures).

Though singularly dedicated to the care of his patients, Dr. Morbia does cultivate many interests outside the practice of medicine. He loves the rigorous study of history, economics, philosophy and politics and maintains a passion for international surgery and global health, having served on multiple pediatric cleft lip and palate surgical missions around the world in the past and intending to continue to do so working with Operation Smile – founded by Dr. Magee and headquartered in Virginia Beach – in the future. Dr. Morbia is also dedicated to service to the local community and is an enthusiastic sports fan and avid consumer of all genres of the arts.
